PROHIBITIONS:
Pursuant
to Title 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on the
National Forest System roads and trails as described in this order, within the
Lowman Ranger District, Boise National Forest.
This order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect
until further notice.
1. Being
on the trail as described in this order.

2. Being
on the road as described in this order. 36 CFR 261.54 (e)
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant
to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
1. Persons
with a special use authorization or other Forest Service authorization
specifically exempting them from the effect of this order.
2. Any
Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire
fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
3. Federal
or State administrative personnel in performance of official duty.
ROAD DESCRIPTIONS:
National Forest System (NFS) Road
#025RB Beginning at the intersection with NFS road 025RC
located in Township 9 North, Range 10 East, Section 7 continuing Northeast to
the Warm Springs Trailhead (Trail #147) located in Township 9 North, Range 10 East,
Section 6.
National Forest System (NFS) Road
#545 (O’Keefe Loop) Beginning approximately ¼ mile Northeast
of the Long Creek Summer Home Area, located in Township 9 North, Range 7 East,
Section 12 continuing Northeast along the entire length of the road to the
intersection with NFS Road 515 located in Township 10 North, Range 8 East,
Section 16.
National Forest System (NFS) Road
#515 (Red Mountain Road) The entire length of the road is
closed starting at the intersection with NFS road 582, located in Township 10 North,
Range 8 East, Section 16, and continuing Northeast to the Red Mountain
Trailhead located in Township 10 North, Range 8 East, Section 1.
National Forest System (NFS) Road
#502 The entire length of the road is closed starting at
the intersection with NFS road 582, located in Township 11 North, Range 8 East,
Section 34, and continuing to the end of the road.
National Forest System (NFS) Road
#502A The entire length of the road is closed starting at
the intersection with NFS road 502, located in Township 11 North, Range 8 East,
Section 34, and continuing to the end of the road.
TRAILS DESCRIPTIONS:
National Forest System (NFS) Trail
#018 (Long Creek Trail) The entire length of the trail is
closed starting at NFS Road 545 located in Township 10 North, Range 8 East,
Section 32 traveling East approximately 2.07 miles to the intersection with NFS
Trail #144 (Kirkham Ridge Trail), located in Township 10 North, Range 8 East,
Section 33.
National Forest System (NFS) Trail
#144 (Kirkham Ridge Trail) Beginning at the intersection with NFS Trail # 159 (Miller
Mountain Trail) located in Township 9
North, Range 8 East, Section 8 continuing North/Northeasterly to the intersection
of NFS Road 520 (Bull Trout Lake Road) located in Township 11 North, Range 10
East, Section 9.
National Forest System (NFS) Trail
#148 (Link Trail) The
entire length of the trail is closed starting at the Warm Springs Air Strip
located in Township 9 North, Range 10 East, Section 6 and continuing North to
the intersection with NFS Trail #144 (Kirkham Ridge Trail) located in Township
11 North, Range 9 East, Section 27.
National Forest System (NFS) Trail
# 147 (Warm Springs Trail) The entire length of the trail is
closed starting at the Warm Springs Air Strip located in Township 9 North,
Range 10 East, Section 6 continuing North to the intersection of NFS Road 520
(Bull Trout Lake Road) located in Township 11 North, Range 10 East, Section 9.
National Forest System (NFS) Trail 145
(Red Mountain Trail) The entire length of the trail is closed
starting at NFS road 515 located in Township 10 North, Range 8 East, Section 1 and
continuing East approximately 2 miles to the intersection with NFS Trail #144 (Kirkham
Ridge Trail) located in Township 11 North, Range 9 East, Section 33.
The
above described roads and trails are located on NFS lands within the
administrative and proclaimed boundaries of the Lowman Ranger District, Boise
National Forest, Boise County, Idaho, Boise Meridian.
PURPOSE:
The
road and trail closures are necessary to provide for public health and safety
due to hazards associated with wildfire and suppression operations related to
the Ridge Fire.
IMPLIMENTATION:
1. This
order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until further
notice.
2. A
map identifying the closure area is attached and made part of this order.
3. Violation
of the above prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for
an individual, or $10,000.00 for an organization, and/or imprisonment for not
more than six (6) months. 16 U.S.C.
§551; 18 U.S.C. §§3571(b)(6), 3581(b)(7).
4. This
order supersedes any previous orders prohibiting the same or similar acts
prohibited on the roads and trails covered by this order.
